DOMINO'S PIZZA BREAKS WORLD RECORD FOOD DELIVERY

Domino's Pizza announced today that it has smashed the world record for the furthest food delivery, earning the leading pizza delivery company a coveted place in the book of GuinnessT World Records.

A Vegetarian Supreme pizza was delivered by Lucy Clough, joint venture franchisee of two UK Domino's Pizza stores, to 'Ramsey Street', on screen home to Toadfish, AKA Ryan Moloney, from Aussie soap Neighbours,

Prepared with fresh dough and cooked at the Domino's Pizza store in Feltham, London, on 17 November 2004, the pizza then travelled a distance of 10,532 miles to its delivery point at 30 'Ramsey Street', Melbourne, on 19 November 2004. The previous record was held by Butler's Pizza for delivering a pizza from Capetown, South Africa to Sydney, Australia - a distance of 6,861 miles.

The challenge was undertaken in conjunction with Domino's UK charity of choice, Make-A-Wish FoundationË UK, with fundraising around the event topping a total donation to the charity of over £30,000.

Domino's franchisee Lucy Clough who delivered the pizza said: "It's brilliant news that the challenge was a success and that we've made it into the book of GuinnessT World Records. Domino's is dedicated to delivering more than just great tasting pizza however and using the challenge to raise money for Make-A-WishË has been a great success. It's a wonderful charity and we're very pleased to be able to support them."

The record will be appearing in the 2006 edition of the GuinnessT World Records, which will be published in September this year.
