NatWest supports development plans for KFC franchisee

  • KFC franchise business, AIS Foods, plans to develop new Drive Thru
  • Franchise team at NatWest offers specialist knowledge and understanding of the franchise sector
  • AIS Foods switches banking facilities and secures financial backing for the project

KFC franchise business AIS Foods has switched its banking facilities to NatWest and has received financial backing to support its plans to create a new KFC Drive Thru on Devonshire Road in Blackpool later this year.

AIS Foods is a KFC franchise business set up to operate the Drive Thru project and is operated by a second generation of franchisees with a brother and sister team of Andy Atkinson, Ian Atkinson and Susan Parker. They also operate Cayjym Foods – operators of KFC stores in the North West and a family business started in 1971.

David Williams, Director, Franchise Business Development in the NatWest specialist franchise team was introduced to Andy by a colleague from the Lombard Asset Finance Franchise team – NatWest and Lombard are part of the RBS Group. Using his knowledge and experience of both the franchise sector and KFC brand, David was able to re-structure their existing facilities and arrange new banking facilities to provide appropriate funding to support their plans to develop the new Drive Thru.

Andy Atkinson, AIS Foods, commented: “The service provided so far has been great – the NatWest team acted quickly to confirm the financial backing for the Drive Thru project and demonstrated a great understanding of our business and of the KFC brand as a whole.”

David Williams, Franchise Specialist from NatWest, added: “I was introduced to AIS Foods by a colleague who recommended they talk to us about reviewing their financial facilities. Andy, along with his brother Ian and sister Susan are proven operators of KFC franchises and demonstrated a strong business plan for the development of the new Drive Thru. We also discussed their day-to-day banking requirements and were able to structure a funding solution to meet the customer’s needs. We are very pleased to support AIS Foods with their development plans and wish them all the best with the completion of the new site.”

David Williams, Director Franchise Business Development at NatWest worked together with Relationship Manager Dave Bronsdon also from the Franchise team.
