Redundancy opened door to etyres franchise success

Franchisees: Jeremy and Victoria
Territory: Newcastle
Franchise: etyres

Redundancy can be a stressful and worrying time, but Jeremy Valentine used it as an opportunity to launch a new career with his wife Victoria.

The couple opened a branch of etyres, the UK's leading online mobile tyre fitting company, covering Newcastle and Gateshead and got off to a storming start.

Within six months they were fitting 200 tyres a month and achieving tremendous feedback from their marketing initiatives.

Jeremy, a former sales manager for an IT company, said: "Neither of us had any experience in the industry, but we believed that with hard work and initiative we could make a success of an etyres franchise.

“The company appealed to us because it has a proven reputation and commitment to offering customers competitive prices and the most convenient service.

"We are enjoying working well as a team and our mobile fitting service is proving really popular in the north east.” Victoria added: “We’ve been really getting out into the community and promoting our service, not just handing out leaflets, but targeting niche markets, especially caravan and motorhome enthusiasts and motorbike clubs.”

While Jeremy handles the fitting side, Victoria is calling on her experience as a former marketing manager to promote the business.

She said: "etyres appealed to both of us, but especially me because not long ago I woke up one morning to a flat tyre. Jay was working away and I had a toddler and a new born baby.

"I remember thinking wouldn't it be brilliant if someone came to the house and changed the tyre rather than having to load the kids into the car and wait around in a garage for an hour!

“Now we’re doing just that and loving every minute of it!”
