Discover a career in franchising to suit your lifestyle

The National Franchise Exhibition
30 September & 1 October 2011
NEC, Birmingham
Mothers often find it difficult to balance their career with family responsibilities. Running their own company is often the ideal solution, offering the flexibility, so that there is no need for the inevitable trade-off between family and business commitments.
For many, a franchised business is the best way to launch a new venture, providing a proven business idea, a structure and a support network that help to remove many of the uncertainties of starting up on your own.
It’s a career option that’s becoming increasingly popular, with more than half a million people working in the industry in 2010, according to the latest survey by NatWest and the British Franchise Association (bfa). The number of women entering the world of franchising has increased steadily over the past five years with the survey showing that over a quarter of franchisees are female.
There will be plenty of franchise opportunities to interest and suit those with families when The National Franchise Exhibition, the UK’s largest franchising event, takes place 30 September to 1 October at the NEC Birmingham. Companies including Banana Moon Day Nursery, Bling It On, Funky Feet Spas, Jumping Clay, White Science and Weight Medics all offer working activities that can be tailored around the family.
At the event will be around 150 franchise businesses covering sectors from food and drink to home improvement, property and travel – ideas to suit every interest and budget. What’s more, The National Franchise Exhibition is exclusively supported by the British Franchise Association (bfa) and only features companies that meet the Association’s code of ethics, so visitors can trust the businesses present.
Following its success at last year’s event, The Creation Station will be returning with the Children's Activity Centre. This award winning franchise offers children and parents to opportunity to explore their artistic side at the event free-of-charge. This enables children to have creative fun, freeing up the chance for a parent to discover more about the franchise businesses on offer.
The exhibition is a comprehensive event that makes it easy for visitors to find out all they need to know in order to develop a career in franchising. As well as the exhibitors, there is a wide range of seminars, including a series under theme of families in franchising.
