Grace Angilley just knew, from the moment she read about Blossom Home Care, that it was the franchise for her.
“I’ve worked in social care for years and seen some dreadful things,” she says, “but Blossom leapt out at me because it offers the standard of care I’d want if I needed it myself.
“Just like me, Blossom believes in caring for its carers, paying them decently, and giving them the chance to care for clients properly in their own homes.”
From her first conversation with Blossom founders John and Fiona Leggott, Grace felt at home and knew she’d be joining a company that shared her values and genuinely wanted to make a difference to people’s lives.
“Blossom is vastly superior to so many home-care companies out there,” says Grace. “Insisting that home visits are at least 50 minutes long makes a world of difference to clients and to the carers themselves.
“It gives them a chance to build friendships and spend time having coffee together or playing Scrabble once the basic needs are taken care of.
“John and Fiona gave me straight answers to every question I had, and they’ve kept all their promises, too.”
Grace has taken on the whole county of Cornwall as her territory, helping John and Fiona further realise their dream of turning Blossom into a truly national network.
Their reach now extends from the North of England right down to the toe of Cornwall, to the Midlands in one direction and to Canterbury in the other.
The multi-award-winning network offers a true alternative to residential care, enabling its clients to retain their independence and remain in their own homes.
Grace intends to create at least 150 jobs in her first three years, beginning with a base in Truro then opening other offices as her business grows.
