From pandemic launch to national recognition: Aspray’s Steve Robinson wins Great British Franchisee Award 2026

27-October-2026

Sheffield business owner Steve Robinson has won a Great British Franchisee Award 2026, recognising the resilience, customer care and business growth behind his successful Aspray operation. Having launched at the start of the Covid pandemic, Steve has built a profitable business spanning multiple territories, earning national recognition for both his commercial achievements and his contribution to the wider franchise network.

The award marks another milestone for Steve, who has also been named Aspray’s Franchisee of the Year at its national conference for two years running.

Starting a business during the pandemic brought considerable uncertainty. Through determination and a strong belief in the franchise model, Steve has grown his operation while maintaining a clear focus on helping customers through the challenges of property damage insurance claims.

His success reflects more than the growth of his own business. Alongside serving customers and developing a family business, Steve has made a significant contribution to other franchisees, sharing his experience and supporting the wider Aspray network.

Commenting on the judges’ decision, Suzanne Melville, Which Franchise, said:

“Steve is an exceptionally deserving winner of a Great British Franchisee Award, having demonstrated outstanding resilience, business growth and a genuine commitment to customer service. Launching his Aspray business at the start of the Covid pandemic presented enormous challenges, but through determination, hard work and a strong belief in the franchise model, he has built a highly successful and profitable multi-territory operation.

“What particularly impressed the judges was Steve’s ability to combine strong commercial performance with exceptional customer care and a willingness to support others. His excellent customer feedback, involvement in his local community and significant contribution to the wider Aspray network are testament to the quality of the business he has built.

“Steve is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through franchising, not only creating a thriving family business with a lasting legacy, but also helping fellow franchisees succeed. He is a truly worthy winner.”

The award came as a surprise to Steve when it was delivered to his office by Aspray’s Elliott Boyden.

Steve said: “I was completely taken by surprise when Elliott arrived at the office with the award. I’m incredibly proud to receive this recognition and very grateful to everyone involved, particularly the Aspray team for their support.

“It has been an amazing couple of years. Being named Aspray’s Franchisee of the Year twice was already a huge honour, so winning a Great British Franchisee Award really is the icing on the cake. Building this business has taken a lot of hard work, and it means a great deal to have that recognised.”

Aspray franchisees help policyholders manage property damage insurance claims and coordinate the reinstatement work needed to put their properties back together. The role combines claims management, project coordination and customer service, often supporting people during a difficult and unfamiliar experience.

For Aspray, Steve’s achievement is a proud moment for the whole network. His recognition celebrates a business owner who has combined ambition with care for his customers, while making time to help others develop their own businesses.
