From maternity nurse to award-winning businesswoman: Georgina Ware celebrates Great British Franchisee Award win

27-October-2026

Georgina Ware, who runs Harmony at Home Maternity and Consultancy Agency, has been recognised for her business achievements, exceptional customer service and commitment to supporting families and maternity professionals across the UK.

After spending more than two decades working as a maternity nurse, both in the UK and internationally, Georgina decided to put her extensive knowledge and experience to work in a different way, launching her Harmony at Home franchise in 2022.

Her agency specialises in matching families with experienced maternity nurses, night nannies and parenting consultants, providing vital support during the early stages of parenthood.

From helping new parents establish feeding and sleeping routines to arranging round-the-clock newborn care, Georgina's business provides a personalised service designed to give families confidence and reassurance at what can be one of the most exciting, but challenging, times in their lives.

Her transition from maternity nurse to business owner has proved a considerable success, with Georgina steadily developing her agency and establishing a reputation for professionalism, compassion and outstanding customer care.

Rather than simply increasing the number of maternity practitioners on her books, Georgina has deliberately focused on quality over quantity, refining her recruitment and vetting processes to ensure families are matched with the right professionals.

This approach has helped her build a thriving specialist agency, with an emphasis on developing lasting relationships and delivering a consistently high standard of service.

But for Georgina, success is about much more than business growth.

Having spent so many years working directly with new parents, she understands how important it is for families to feel supported, particularly when circumstances change unexpectedly.

On one occasion, she had to arrange an emergency replacement when a maternity practitioner became unavailable shortly before an assignment. In another, she sourced immediate support for a family following an earlier-than-expected caesarean birth.

Her ability to respond calmly and quickly in challenging situations has helped establish a reputation for reliability, compassion and outstanding customer care.

That commitment has been recognised within the Harmony at Home network, with Georgina receiving its internal Customer Service Award in 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Georgina said: “Customer service is at the heart of everything I do, so to be recognised nationally for it means the world.

“This award belongs just as much to my wonderful maternity practitioners and night nannies, and to the parents who trust us at such a precious time.

“I hope it gives every parent who comes to us real confidence that they're in expert hands.”

Georgina is particularly passionate about supporting the maternity professionals who work with her agency.

Drawing on her own experience, she has introduced quarterly virtual coffee mornings, giving practitioners the opportunity to connect, discuss industry developments and share the challenges of working in maternity care.

She also runs a mentoring scheme for newly registered maternity nurses, offering practical advice on interviews, placements and building confidence as they establish their careers.

These initiatives have helped create a supportive professional community and have inspired other Harmony at Home franchisees to adopt similar approaches.

Despite her extensive experience, Georgina remains committed to developing her own knowledge and skills.

She regularly undertakes professional development training and, in April 2026, completed the Norland Maternity Practitioner Award, ensuring her expertise remains aligned with the latest standards and best practice.

She also participates in monthly franchise training and regular development sessions with the brand's founder, continually refining both her business skills and the service she offers to families.

Her success demonstrates how franchising can provide experienced professionals with an opportunity to build a business around their existing skills and passions, while benefiting from the structure and support of an established brand.

Frankie Gray, founder of Harmony at Home, praised Georgina's achievements and the contribution she has made to the franchise network.

She said: “I’m absolutely thrilled for Georgina. In nearly five years with Harmony at Home, she has become a true asset to the maternity practitioners and parents who rely on her expertise every day.

“She is a genuine baby expert and has built a wonderful community of maternity practitioners around her, matching parents with the right maternity practitioner or night nanny at one of the most precious and demanding times of their lives.

“Georgina is a shining example of everything Harmony at Home stands for, and this recognition from the Great British Franchise Awards is so richly deserved. We couldn’t be prouder of her.”

The judges of the Great British Franchisee Awards were particularly impressed by Georgina's commitment to customer service and her passion for supporting families and maternity professionals.

They commented: “Georgina is an exceptionally deserving winner of a Great British Franchisee Award, having demonstrated outstanding customer service and a genuine passion for supporting families and maternity professionals.

“What particularly impressed the judges was Georgina's unwavering commitment to putting quality and customer experience at the heart of everything she does. Her thoughtful approach to matching families with the right maternity professionals and dedication to building lasting relationships have earned her outstanding customer feedback and three consecutive Customer Service Awards.

“Her commitment to mentoring maternity professionals, creating supportive communities and sharing her knowledge across the Harmony at Home network makes her a fantastic ambassador for franchising and a thoroughly worthy winner.”

Looking ahead, Georgina plans to continue developing her agency while maintaining the personal approach and rigorous standards that have been central to her success.

For someone who has dedicated her career to supporting parents and newborn babies, winning a Great British Franchisee Award is recognition of both her entrepreneurial achievements and her commitment to making a positive difference to the lives of families and maternity professionals.
