One big win for Midlands’ business coach and one more in the offing

27-October-2026

The Midlands’ very own business coach, Anu Khanna, has plenty to celebrate after scooping a Great British Franchisee Award (GBFA) for her work helping local businesses thrive. And the good news keeps coming, as she's also been named a finalist at the British Franchise Association (BFA) Awards, with the winners set to be revealed next month.

The GBFA celebrates the cream of the crop when it comes to UK franchise owners, recognising everything from business growth and happy teams to customer success and community impact. Based in Warwick, Anu, has been running ActionCOACH Central Midlands since 2018, helping local business owners grow their companies, build stronger teams and enjoy a better work-life balance.

The recognition is particularly special for Anu because it celebrates the people and relationships at the heart of her business. “For me, the best part of this business is seeing the difference we can make to local business owners, helping them level up their organisations and achieve things they might never have thought possible.

“Every business owner has their own ambitions, challenges and reasons for doing what they do. Being able to support them on their journey, celebrate their successes and help them create a business and life they love is incredibly rewarding.”

Community plays a huge part in Anu's approach to coaching. Through regular business events and planning sessions, she brings local entrepreneurs together to share ideas, learn from one another and build lasting friendships.

“Running a business can sometimes feel quite lonely, especially when you're facing difficult decisions,” explained Anu. “One of my favourite things is seeing business owners arrive at our events feeling overwhelmed and leave with renewed confidence, a clear plan and a room full of people cheering them on.

“It's lovely to see the friendships and working relationships develop. Our clients genuinely want each other to succeed, and seeing them support one another is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.”

Anu's commitment to supporting others also extends beyond her coaching business. As a trustee of the Buddy Bag Foundation, a charity based in Sutton Coldfield, providing backpacks filled with essential items for children facing emergency situations, she volunteers approximately 100 hours each year to help make a difference to young lives.

“The Buddy Bag Foundation is incredibly close to my heart,” added Anu. “Every child deserves to feel safe, supported and cared for, particularly during difficult times. Being involved with the charity is a privilege, and I love knowing we're helping bring some comfort to children when they need it most.”

The Great British Franchisee Awards judges praised Anu's strong business performance, exceptional client relationships, investment in her team and contribution to the wider community. Her latest achievement is made even sweeter by her BFA Customer Focus finalist nomination, recognising her commitment to providing an outstanding experience for the businesses she supports.

With the BFA Awards ceremony taking place on 12th November, Anu is looking forward to celebrating alongside fellow finalists and reflecting on the journey so far. “Being shortlisted for Customer Focus means so much because our clients really are at the heart of everything we do,” concluded Anu. “I'm really proud of my team and grateful to every business owner who has put their trust in us. To receive this recognition is wonderful, and I'm excited to see what the future holds for our brilliant local business community.”
