Super Mario switches industries and wins major award

07-September-2023

A loss assessor who helps homeowners with their property insurance claims in Surrey and Berkshire has won a major industry award.

Mario Lovric, owner of Aspray Maidenhead and Guildford and already acclaimed as his network’s National Franchisee of the Year for 2023, has just scooped a Great British Franchisee Award – the most prestigious accolade in the highly competitive franchising world.

“He’s also the first franchisee in our network to expand their business to a second territory within the first two years,” says Hayley McSherry, a national Director of Aspray.

“In Year 2 of his franchise, he achieved 424% growth, with a further 198% in year 3, and he’s on track to achieve even more during year 4.

“Mario’s now the second-largest franchisee in our network – an outstanding achievement.”

Mario, based in West Byfleet, Surrey, says his property insurance claims management company puts the homeowner at the centre of everything he does, taking away some of the stresses that can arise from a buildings insurance claim.

“We manage the entire claim lifecycle from initial site visits and surveying of property damage, through to agreement of scope of repairs with the insurer, then we project-manage the repairs, returning each property to its pre-incident condition.

“Not many people and businesses were aware of our existence at first,” he says, “so an enormous amount of effort was spent on raising awareness.

“Most people go their entire lives without having to make a claim, so all our customers are therefore the unlucky ones.

“I see it as our duty to help these people through what is usually a very stressful and ultimately unwanted experience.”

Mario, a former civil engineer and construction director, employs two loss-assessors and intends to increase his staff – ideally, he says, giving employment to former military personnel moving into Civvy Street.

When asked what the award means to him, Mario replied, “It’s an honour to receive a Great British Franchisee Award, especially since there are so many talented franchisees running successful businesses across the country.

“A big thank you to the Head Office staff for supporting me throughout my journey, but I couldn’t have done this without my Wife and business partner Ana.”
