Britain’s finest franchisees triumph in prestigious industry awards

Eighteen of the UK’s most outstanding business owners have been honoured in the Great British Franchisee Awards.
They include a travel consultant who turned over £400,000 in two months despite undergoing three days a week of gruelling chemotherapy, and a woman whose work-life balance comes second only to Santa’s.
“In every case, they’re people who haven’t merely followed the proven business formula that buying a franchise gave them,” says Johnny Sellyn, the founder of awards organiser whichfranchise.com.
“They’ve done that, of course, but they’ve taken it so much further and achieved extraordinary results, made a serious difference in their community, or, in the case of the cancer sufferer who kept working through chemo, overcome adversity in a way that’s both humbling and moving to read about.”
The awards, now in their second year, recognise outstanding business performance and are judged against rigorous criteria including customer satisfaction, growth, and resilience during the pandemic.
“Winning one of these awards puts them among the elite of the franchising world,” says Johnny, “and their success shows people who are looking for a new direction in business just what can be achieved by buying a franchise.
“Every one of our winners could have set up in business by themselves – they certainly have the talent – but they recognised that taking on a franchise allowed them to fast-forward their success and learn from others’ experience by standing on giants’ shoulders.”
