Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has announced it has recruited a new Scottish franchisee. Elaine Anderson will take over the established territory of Glasgow and Fort William, delivering Card Connection’s extensive range of high-quality greeting cards and gifts to retailers across the region.

“I was looking for a new challenge and Card Connection ticked all the boxes,” confirms Card Connection franchisee, Elaine Anderson. “The business offers a solid cash-flow opportunity and stunning products. The Glasgow and Fort William territory is a mix of urban and some particularly rural areas and even includes several island locations. I will get to see parts of Scotland I’ve never seen before! I am really looking forward to ‘going for it’ and developing the area further by running it as efficiently as possible.”

Before joining the Card Connection franchisee network Elaine Anderson was a contract manager for Skills Development Scotland and Scottish Enterprise for around 10 years before taking a break to re-evaluate options. A visit to the Franchise exhibition in Scotland sparked her interest in franchising and an ad in the local paper alerted her to the Card Connection opportunity which had become available. Following her training, Elaine Anderson will complete the handover from the outgoing franchisee, who is migrating to Australia to live closer to family, towards the end of June.

Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of the largest publicly owned greeting card publisher in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees who are keen to run an expanding business. Suitable candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, and depending on the size of the territory, they could be expected to employ a small team, operate a small warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.

Since the franchise network in the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £20k (+stock) with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum.
