Gong cha signs agreement to launch 10 sites in Belgium

Gong cha, one of the world’s fastest-growing global tea brands announces its launch in Belgium after signing a master franchise agreement with Mad Vision Group, the multi-brand franchise specialists which operate more than 16 food and beverage sites across the Benelux region.

Founded in Taiwan in 1996, Gong cha is known for its consistently high-quality, freshly brewed drinks made with premium ingredients. In 2009, the brand expanded overseas for the first time and has grown significantly and now, through master franchise agreements, has almost 1,800 locations across 20 countries, including the UK, USA, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Korea and Japan.

Gong cha’s launch in Belgium is an important part of its global expansion strategy, as consumer interest in bubble tea across the European continent accelerates. According to Allied Market Research, the global bubble tea market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.5% to be worth approximately £3.6 billion by 2027, with the fastest growth set to be in Europe[1].

Its new master franchisee, Mad Vision Group, which operates leading brands O’Tacos, Chick & Cheez and Go Fish, initially plans to open 10 sites across Belgium by the end of 2022, creating 50 new jobs. Across its brands, Mad Vision employs more than 150 full-time employees and serves more than 11,500 meals per week.
