The Original Poster Company franchise has family feel
Sam & Jashani Senthuran
South West London Franchise
Why did you choose OPC?
We found out about OPC through our brother-in-law who has a store in Thames Ditton. He gets his cards serviced by Claire and Michael, (Kingston & Twickenham). We researched the company and saw some samples of the cards which made us realize that the quality of cards are of a high standard and also very sellable. We also liked the fact that OPC is well established and has the feel of a family run business.
What did you do before you bought the franchise?
Sam works for the Wandsworth council as a housing officer in the Emergency Department and Jashani works as a pensions officer at an engineering firm.
How did you raise the finance for the franchise?
Our family helped in securing the necessary funding.
What training and support have you received so far from OPC?
It has been amazing. We knew nothing on how to run a business and the training taught us how to start the business up and run it. Initial training was in the office for two days - all theory and advice which proved invaluable. Then we spent a week with the regional manager merchandising all the stores giving us first hand practical experience. A month later we had two days of prospecting training with the regional manager Colin, who has been amazingly helpful. To this day the training is still there for anything as and when we require it - all you need to do is pick up the phone.
Have other franchisees in OPC said anything that influenced your decision?
Since joining OPC, all the other franchisees have been very helpful and have given us good tips on how to do certain things such as the picking and packing in order to speed up the process as well as advice on all the help that OPC as a company give.
