The West Midlands is served by 6 individual Business Links – Birmingham & Solihull, Hereford & Worcester, Staffordshire, Coventry & Warwickshire, Shropshire and the Black Country – all helping you to not only start-up your own business but to keep it up and running.
Business Link is the first point of contact to help you with any business enquiry; including legislation, premises, training, quality or management. As well as helping people to start up their own business, Business Link provides services for those businesses trying to break into new markets, looking to export, seeking help with technology, or looking to expand.
Business Link delivers impartial, expert and practical business information and advice tailored to meet local business needs.
Advantage West Midlands
Advantage West Midlands is one of nine Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) established by the Government in 1999 to transform England's regions through sustainable economic development.
Within this remit, our role in the West Midlands is to help transform the regional economy by connecting need and opportunity to create a better place in which to invest, work, learn, visit and live.
We do this primarily by leading the development and delivery of the West Midlands Economic Strategy (WMES), which is the framework for all our, and our partners’, activity up to 2010.
Following extensive consultation, Delivering Advantage – the West Midlands Economic Strategy, was recently updated and launched in January 2004. At the Strategy’s heart is a Vision that all regional partners have committed to achieving:
By 2010 “the West Midlands is recognised as a world-class region in which to invest, work, learn, visit and live and the most successful in creating wealth to benefit all of its people”.
