“The business of the British Franchise Association starts with the generation of our community of common interest founded on shared know-how in the business of ethical franchising” Brian Smart, Director general, bfa
The bfa promotes ethical franchising in the UK , as represented by accredited franchisors, to the general public; business community; government; and media.
They also provide the general public with information and education to help them make effective judgments when choosing the best franchise for them.
This is all achieved by acting in the interest of the industry as a whole, and assessing and accrediting those companies who meet their criteria of: structure of the business; terms of the contract between franchisor and franchisee; and testing of the franchise system as a franchise. Accreditation from the bfa gives a franchise status as a
a “good operator”.
