Harvard Window Cleaning franchise: an Ivy League of its own

A small window cleaning firm that looks after high-end properties in Sandbanks has become the first business of its kind to join the British Franchise Association (BFA).

Harvard Window Cleaning, whose clients include some of the wealthiest residents on the millionaires’ playground in Poole, Dorset, is now tendering for a contract to clean a Royal palace.

Luke Rayner, 25, set up the company two years ago and has gained membership of the BFA, meaning the business can be rolled out across the country.

He and his team built up their expertise cleaning windows of the modern sea front-style properties that contain huge amounts of glass.

The company uses purified water along with top-end equipment to ensure the cleanest finish possible.

And through recommendations, Harvard has become the go-to window cleaner in the upmarket area and now plans expansion into leafy parts of Surrey and other expensive parts of Britain.

The window cleaners works on residential and commercial properties and now their loftiest ambition is to clean the country’s most iconic buildings.

Luke, who lives in Bournemouth, said: “We do many of the expensive properties in Sandbanks and nearby, and we’re very competitively priced.

“We are also very proud to be able to franchise our business and we’re the first window cleaning company to be members of the British Franchise Association.

“It means we can expand across the country and importantly we can be in total control of the expansion.

“In Poole we can train people in how we do things to our own high standards then set them up with a van and all the equipment.

“We are currently tendering to clean a Royal palace – I can’t say which one – and we want it to be the first of many.

“It is a real team effort and the staff build up great relationships with the customers and ensure that each property’s windows are cleaned to the highest standards.”
