Four Card Connection franchisees renew contracts

Leading greeting card publisher, Card Connection has announced that four of its franchisees have just renewed their five year franchise contracts. At the same time, Eric Knight, Simon Parker, Andy Burchell and Atul Patel all attended the franchisee ‘refresher’ training course run by Card Connection at the company’s head office in Farnham, Surrey, to ensure their skills are right up to update so they can continue to develop their franchises in the future.

“Our franchisees generally tend to run their Card Connection businesses for many years,” confirms Michael Johnson, managing director, Card Connection. “For example, Eric Knight from Portsmouth joined Card Connection in 2003 and Atul Patel from London became a franchisee in 2001 and so they are particularly experienced. Therefore, the renewal training we organise is partly a reminder of some of the fundementals relating to why the Card Connection business model is so successful but also an opportunity to share the very latest insight into sales techniques, handling new business calls and generally the best ways to make improvements to the business.

“The training is also a chance for franchisees to exchange ideas about what is working for them as learning from each other is also valuable,” continues Johnson. “Franchisees usually finish the day feeling re-energised and ready to apply the knowledge back in the field.

“We are delighted that Eric, Simon, Andy and Atul have chosen to renew their franchise contracts with Card Connection and we will do all we can to support them to ensure the continued success of their franchises,” concludes Johnson.

Card Connection is one of the UK’s largest card publishers and is the market leader in the franchised distribution of greeting cards. The business’ unique model of consignment sales has resulted in a strong brand and established reputation which has been proven over many years. Through its franchisees Card Connection supplies about 12,000 retailers throughout the UK.

Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of American Greetings Inc., one of the largest greeting card publishers in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees that are keen to run an expanding business. Since the franchise network in the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £7k + Stock + Card Connection fee with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum.
