Premier Sports work alongside schools to deliver 'Outstanding' PE

Premier Sport is the UK's largest external provider of PE and sport employing 600+ qualified sports professionals supporting over 2000 schools weekly. Premier Sport's ongoing dedication is to work alongside head teachers to help deliver 'outstanding' PE and physical activity.

Not only this, Premier Sport will ensure the new sports premium funding is sustainable over and beyond the initial two years using their unique and innovative new PE and physical activity programme called 'Inspire'. The Inspire Programme gives children, schools and parents the vehicle they need to get active and stay active.

Daniel Garrod, a PE coach for Premier Sport was recently observed by Ofsted at Southover CofE Primary School in Lewes, East Sussex. Ofsted's feedback on Daniel's session was fantastic with the overall assessment scoring 'Outstanding' .

The head teacher, Steve Elliott gave special praise to Premier Sport by saying:
"I am delighted that Dan Garrod's games lesson was judged to be 'outstanding' by the Ofsted lead inspector. This was significant for us as some of our 'PE and Sport' Premium goes towards the purchase of Premier Sport's delivery. The use of the funding was a particular focus for the inspection."

"The support Premier Sport has provided over the past few years has been outstanding. Particular features of Premier Sport's provision are the sustained quality of the coaches provided as Premier Sport have always replaced one outstanding coach with another; excellent communication between Premier Sport, the coaches and the school; the flexibility and adaptability of the coaches; the standard of staff training/subject knowledge/safeguarding; and the quality of coaches'planning and value for money."

"We look forward to continuing this successful partnership in the future."

Speaking about his achievement, Premier Sport’s Daniel Garrod said:
"Premier Sport trains me to support lesson delivery to Ofsted requirements. My lesson planning for the first term had been completed well in advance allowing my line managers to support my progress of delivering 'good' PE and turn it into 'outstanding'."

"My preparation and planning for the inspection was like any other PE lesson I would deliver so it's nice to know my delivery is rated as 'outstanding'. The session was well planned allowing it to run as smoothly as I hoped. I'm delighted to know Ofsted rated this session 'Outstanding'. I would like to thank Premier Sport with their ongoing support allowing me to progress as a sport's coach."

By working with teachers and not 'replacing' them Premier Sport is committed to enriching the provision of PE, physical activity and school sport.

Premier Sport's local Physical Activity & Sports Co-ordinator Andrew Joinson & Peter Mullane commented on the coaches 'outstanding' Ofsted rating by saying:

"We are delighted with Daniel's achievement in his recent observation. We have had a great relationship with the school over the last five years and this has strengthened even further."
"We spend a lot of time working with our staff and developing their delivery through constant observations, example session, external training courses and advice from our education advisor.
