Role of the franchisee
At The ZipYard we’re looking for business owners not tailors, dress makers or seamstresses. You need a passion for business not a passion for sewing – we are looking for people keen to take responsibility for managing and developing a successful business.
Cost of the franchise
The total cost of a ZipYard franchise is £38,500 plus VAT and Shop fit.
The £38,500 is broken down as follows:
There is a one-off licence fee of £15,000.
We charge £5,000 for training, project management (of the shop fit), initial staff recruitment and your marketing launch programme.
The final £18,500 covers all your equipment, the computer system, pre-start merchandising, marketing collateral and opening stock.
The very good news is that the major banks can fund up to 70% - dependent upon your financial history.

How we train and support you
As part of your investment, you will receive the full backing, training and support of a management team with over 70 years combined experience in franchising, and are specialists in their business fields.
We are always on hand with help, advice, marketing support, on-going training, product development and much more.
To ensure you are up-to-date with best practices and all necessary information, we have Network Meetings throughout the year adding new marketing collateral to the ‘bank’.
Training is part classroom based (at Head Office) and part in-centre – for true hands on experience. All Franchise Owners undergo a two-week comprehensive induction programme, covering business practices, computer systems, running a centre, marketing and promotions, recruitment, counter sales etc.
Are we the right fit?
You do not need to have a background in the garment alterations industry as full training will be provided. Furthermore, we will assist with finding the right premises in the best location, and recruiting and training staff.
We would expect a new Franchise Owner to at least meet – if not surpass – our benchmark of £100,000 turnover in their first year and to have the ambition to drive onto £250,000 by the end of year three.
