bfa certificate

The Prospective Franchisee Certificate (PFC) was developed following research that stated that 35% of franchisors find that lack of business acumen is a barrier in franchisee recruitment.

Together with Lloyds Bank, the British Franchise Association (bfa) have developed this FREE online e-learning initiative to increase prospective franchisees knowledge of the franchise industry, and what investing in a franchise involves.

The modular, video-based course provides insights into everything from evaluating franchise opportunities to business management, financial understanding and legal considerations. Best of all, it’s completely free and can be taken on any device, anywhere with an internet connection, either in a single day or in bite-sized chunks.

Each module includes an assessment which must be passed, and upon completion you will receive a certificate to prove this.

The benefits of this certification

Benefits of the PFC include going into the franchising process with a solid knowledge of what is expected of you, and what you should expect from your franchisor. This is the best way to help start you on the right path of finding success.

You will be able to approach your potential franchisor fully informed, knowing the right questions to ask, and prepared for what questions may be asked of you.

By showing them the certificate you will receive by completing the PFC, you will also be demonstrating to franchisors that you have the skills, knowledge and appreciation of the franchise model required to successfully own and operate a business.
