James McEwan, Domino's Pizza
At the age of 24, James McEwan is one of Domino's Pizza's youngest franchisees. A great example of a budding young entrepreneur, James owns the Whitefield store, near Manchester.
James was working his way through a masters in economics when he began to consider his future career. “I'd been a Domino's customer for six years and started to think about opening a store while I was in my last year of university,” says James. “I knew that I didn't want to go into a nine to five office job – I wanted something that was hands-on and would allow me to put all the business theory I'd learnt into practice.”
Having graduated from university, James submitted his application to become a Domino's franchisee. Within six months, he had opened his store in Whitefield.
Setting up a Domino's franchise was the ideal way for James to start his own business. All the suppliers, business processes and support were already in place, enabling him to hit the ground running with the backing of a well known global brand.
James is enjoying the flexibility of being his own boss and thrives on the buzz of the store environment. With one store already open, James' long-term plan is to own a total of 10. “I'm so pleased I took the plunge and started my Domino's franchise,” he sums up. “I love the flexibility and hands-on nature of the job and can't wait to continue growing my business.”
